Are you looking to get involved in your community? Consider joining us in a volunteer role – there is a role for everyone!
Volunteers are the backbone of the association. The board of directors, executive and all members are volunteers. There are no paid positions in our association. Volunteers meet several times a year to discuss building and maintaining the trail. We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities.
Executive members manage correspondence, update our FaceBook page, submit content for our website, fill out grant applications, lead fundraising initiatives, write letters, manage finances, pay bills, meet with funding sources and hire contractors, supported by the Board of Directors. Members support initiatives and share ideas.
Trail Maintenance
Requires many hours of volunteer labour – we need volunteers willing to organize work days and clean up events, pick up trash and recyclables, cut brush, mow grass, pick up branches and debris, clear fallen trees and branches, fill potholes, drain puddles, raking and pick rocks, use equipment such as tractors, atvs and trailers, safely operate chainsaws and spacing saws and inspect the trail and infrastructure regularly. Repairs to bridge decking and railings are required periodically.
Inspecting, erecting and repairing signs, erecting trail barriers and fences, comfort stations and picnic areas are carried out by volunteers.
Map Updates
Do you have experience and skills in mapping and creating maps? We are in need of volunteers to improve our current trail maps and would love to have you help us!
